LOG HOMES CAN BE FOUND THROUGHOUT THE WORLD THE LAST PLACE IN THE WORLD YOU MIGHT EXPECT TO SEE A TRADITIONAL AMERICAN LOG HOME BUILT WITH PENNSYLVANIA SOFT PINE IS CHENNAI, INDIA, ONE OF THE WORLD'S MOST EXOTIC AND LEAST-KNOWN JET SET RESORT LOCATIONS. But that's exactly where you can find a home built by Kuhn Bros. Log Homes Inc., a privately owned company based in Lewisburg, which is fast developing a large international market for its log homes and cabins.
"The log cabin in India is at a resort called Club Mahindra," explained company president Tom Kuhns. "Someone must have seen our cabins online and requested we send a cabin to them in India. We were glad to comply.
"There is a fair amount of interest in our homes in India, so we're hoping to be more aggressive there. They have a large emerging middle class and that's one of our target audiences. We've dealt with a company that does resorts in that country and we've shipped some smaller cabins for people to stay in. There are mountain and lake regions in India. Perfect settings for our product. We don't actually do the build, but we ship the cabins there. India is a market we definitely want to tap."
